Embedded naturally in the terrain of Lisbon’s historic Mouraria, The Parque Biblioteca acts as both a quiet civic anchor and an active public passage.
Academic project in collaboration with: Carolina Pérez, Viviana Poblete
The project balances two distinct structures working in harmony. A focused cubic volume houses the library's core activities, offering quiet, structured spaces for learning, study, sports and care (the nursery) .
Alongside it, a winding linear volume bends and flows with the neighborhood’s topography—widening into vibrant gathering spots and tapering into quiet alcoves for reflection.
By serving as both a scenic boundary and an open pedestrian link, the architecture seamlessly weaves into the surrounding streets, inviting neighbors and visitors to effortlessly step inside and explore.
